How to Publish to HTMLHelp

HelpConsole doesn’t allow you to directly publish to HTMLHelp format (.CHM file). We’ve decided to focus primarily on web-based and PDF formats. There is, however, a tool named “powerCHM” that can be used to generate a .chm file. This tool can be downloaded from here: http://dawningsoft.com/powerchm.html. This tool allows you to import a folder containing HTML files and generate a CHM help file. You would need to first publish a “static Help system’ and then import that folder into PowerCHM. It does a pretty good job, but there are a couple of drawbacks:

1. The page names will contain underscores in place of spaces. These can be renamed after importing into Powerchm.
2. The pages are all added to the root level of the contents; although you can easily adjust the structure after importing into powerCHM
